Справа под портретом Мао - команда, которая создала Loongson-3 - 4-х ядерную 64-битную китайскую имплементацию процессора MIPS-а (я работаю в MIPS Technologies, поэтому я сразу чувствую к китайским товарищам приязнь, несмотря на Мао). И вот статья как наш новый президент (которого кстати зовут Вий) поехал к ним на переговоры.


Sandeep Vij: MIPS, Loongson to Launch More Products

MIPS Technologies, Inc. President and Chief Executive Officer Sandeep Vij disclosed that the company will launch more products in cooperation with Loongson.

Sandeep Vij acted as president and CEO of MIPS from January 25, 2010. The Institute of Computing Technology of Chinese Academy of Science (ICT), which funds Loongson, is one of the destinations of Mr. Vij's visit to China.

MIPS keeps stable relationship with ICT, which gains the authorization of MIPS at a reasonable price, the CEO said in an interview at the press conference in Beijing, adding that new products will be certainly unveiled in future, but there are no contents for announcement at the moment.

ICT so far has gained the MIPS 32 and MIPS 64 architecture authorization and will continue developing and commercializing its Loongson series processors. Lemote Technologies Co., Ltd. earlier had launched Android netbook YeeLong 8089.

MIPS is a world-leading provider of industry-standard processor architectures and cores. Now, the company is trying to use its processor architectures in new fields. Last week, it declared to research and develop MIPS-based processors for mobile devices together with Mavrix.
